1. Do not give out give out personal information such as your address, telephone number, parents’ work address/telephone number, or the name and location of your school without your parents’ permission.
2. Tell your parents right away if you come across any information that makes you feel uncomfortable. It is not your fault if you get a message like that.
3. Do not send your photograph to any one on the Net without initially checking with the parent or guardian.
4. Do not respond to messages or bulletin board items that are dirty, threatening or mean.
5. Never agree to meet someone you ‘meet’ online without first checking with your parents. If your parents agree to the meeting, make sure that it is in a public place and take your mother or father along.
6. Talk with your parents so that you can set up rules for going online. Decide upon the time of day that you can be online, the length of time you can be online, and appropriate sites for you to visit. Do not access other areas or break these rules.
7. Do not give out your Internet password to anyone (even your best friend) other than my parents.
